Gaming Geek Culture Trailer Theater

It’s been a few weeks now since E3, but it’s time to refresh your gaming minds.

On this week’s Trailer Theater, a look ahead at some groundbreaking games on the horizon, with a look back at ten of the most interesting trailers to come out of this year’s expo. There’s so much to look forward to, and although the new Red Dead Redemption was sadly absent from this year’s event, there was still a lot to behold. Here are ten of the best clips to come out of E3 2017 ((Warning: Many of these clips include language and graphic violence intended for mature audiences only)…

Coming soon to a gaming console or device near you…

Cuphead – Finally, a date has been announced for Cuphead, the most original looking platformer I’ve ever seen! I feel like I’ve been waiting years for this release. The game hits STEAM and XBOX ONE on September 29th.

Anthem – This gameplay footage for EA’s BioWare studio’s Anthem is stunning. The fact that it was captured in-game running on real-time is incredible. I’m all over this game when it hits in 2018.

Beyond Good and Evil 2 – The cinematic reveal trailer for Ubisoft’s a prequel to 2003’s Beyond Good & Evil definitely takes the prize for the best world-building trailer of E3. No release window or platform launch details have been announced, but this looks like a can’t miss! (Warning: Trailer includes language and violence intended for mature audiences only)

Far Cry 5 – This new Far Cry game looks intensely political. Transporting the series into a fictional town in Montana and setting it amidst the political and religious uprising of a gun crazy, revolution-bent preacher, captures an unsettling sense of an America at odds with itself. Timeliness to the extreme! (Warning: Trailer includes language and violence intended for mature audiences only)

Super Mario Odyssey – A new open-world Mario game is precisely what the Nintendo Switch needs. And this looks like a Mario game unlike any we’ve ever seen. Just the scope of the settings in this game, including Mario in the real-world, are staggering. And how about that hat trick? Oddjob has nothing on Mario.

Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus – This looks like the craziest Wolfenstein title yet. And that’s saying something! Behold a very clever trailer and a few fake commercials setting the stage for what’s sure to be one of the nuttiest games on the release radar. (Warning: Trailer includes language and violence intended for mature audiences only)

Metro: Exodus – With a deep Fallout vibe, and a FPS dynamic that leaps from the screen, Metro: Exodus presents a non-stop post-apocalyptic narrative with nail-biting survival horror at its heart. I can’t wait to jump out of my seat and discover what’s around each and every corner of this rich world.  (Warning: Trailer includes language and violence intended for mature audiences only)

Marvel’s Spider-Man – This new, extended game-play clip makes Spider-Man look like the perfect superhero game. From the Arkham City-like combat to the web-slinging mechanics, you can’t find a hero more suited for a videogame. This one is a PS4 exclusive!

Days Gone – Sony’s new survival horror title looks like the perfect marriage of The Walking Dead and Sons of Anarchy. Zombies, motorcycles and giant, undead grizzly bears! Like Spider-Man, this one is coming soon exclusively on the PS4.  (Warning: Trailer includes language and violence intended for mature audiences only)

Atari – Atari announced a new…console? Whatever this mystery product is, it sure is beautiful. How about that wood inlay? Pure ’80s nostalgia!
