The 13th Doctor Will See You…

Geek Culture Television

The BBC has come up with an audacious way of boosting the audience for this year’s Men’s Wimbledon Final. With British players, Johanna Konta and Andy Murray, both knocked out of the competition, the Beeb has clearly been looking for ways to maintain British interest.

It has put out a clarion call to all geeks and Whovians by announcing that the 13th Doctor will be announced after the men’s Wimbledon final on Sunday, July 16th. The rub being that the tennis final could last two hours or it might last five. The best way to make sure you don’t miss the announcement will be to tune into Federer V Cillic (Start time: 14.00 BST). Rain is a possibility, but don’t worry. Centre Court has a roof now; there’s no chance you’ll have to wait until Monday!

I won’t spoil the teaser for you, but it looks like after the “Who on earth is that?” comments from us more casual fans of the show, following the season finale, we might finally get to find out who is next to walk in the footsteps of Baker, Tennant, and Capaldi.
