Re-Roll: This Week’s Tabletop Game News

Geek Culture Re-Roll Tabletop Games

Here are the latest announcements and stories that caught our eyes this week:

  • Ever since it was announced, NMBR 9 is one of those games I am really looking forward to playing. This week, Z-Man announced they would be publishing the simultaneous action tile-laying game. It looks deceptively simple, but promises to be pretty thinky. Can’t wait!
  • Coming next week, a couple of games from Looney Labs, from two (seemingly) different ends of the spectrum. Chemistry Fluxx will allow you to play with elements and molecules. Stoner Lunacy, from their adults-only line, will tax your baked brain.
  • Netrunner’s Red Sand cycle gets its final data pack in Crimson Dust. Free Mars! See you at the party, Richter! (Wait, I’m getting confused.) Look for it on shelves soon.
  • Star Wars Destiny‘s next booster box comes out next week, on Thursday, to be exact. It’s sure to sell out quickly. So send flowers or chocolates to your local game store. Maybe they’ll set one aside for you.
  • I’m at Geekway to the West this weekend. If you’re here too and want to play a game (or just say hi), send me a message on Twitter!

At GeekDad, we write a lot about tabletop games. Here’s what we’ve written about this past week:

  • This week highlights Jonathan Liu’s contributions. (but to be honest, that’s really the story every week.)
  • The professor of Portland (I don’t know) wrote about a new Kickstarter for Wanted Earth this week. He also got excited when two very, very good games were fulfilled: the absolutely gorgeous dice-puzzle game, Sagrada, and the reincarnation and enlightenment game, Karmaka. Both are fantastic.

Finally, here’s what some of the GeekDad Crew has been playing this week:

  • Ryan Hiller: Pathfinder RPG
