Kingston HyperX expands its grasp on high-end gaming peripherals with the new HyperX Pulsefire FPS Mouse. Upon opening the box, the mouse has an attractive black scheme with 6 buttons, comfortable rubber side grips, and a braided cord. The ergonomics are very comfortable and the extra large skates allow the mouse to glide like butter over my HyperX Fury Pro Pad, which I previously reviewed here. The 95-gram weight is light and nimble; though I prefer a weightier mouse, this may appeal to other gamers. What I feel is most significant is the Pixart 3310 sensor that varies from 400 to 3200 DPI. In testing the mouse with DOOM and Warhammer 40k III, I felt that the smoothness and precision of the sensor increased my ability to shoot enemies or move troops. It is an advantage to be able to do this on the fly. The color of the mouse switch informs what setting the DPI is in, which also helps. The HyperX Pulsefire also uses Omron Switches with a 20m click reliability, giving it a solid and durable feel as well as long life.

In testing the HyperX Pulsefire FPS I found it to be a solid no-frills, extremely accurate and comfortable mouse for the avid gamer. At $49.95 it is one of the best FPS mice you can get at that price range. It is such a value that it is currently sold out at most retailers. So grab one when are where you can and add it to your arsenal. If I could sum up my thoughts on the HyperX Pulsefire FPS in one word it would be: SOLID.
