This week we dive into the newest space thriller Life. Is it sci-fi? Is it horror? The one thing we know for sure is that it’s not the prequel to Sony Picture’s upcoming R-rated comic book movie Venom. Or is it? Perhaps R.E.M said it best when they sang,
“Oh life, it’s bigger
It’s bigger than you
And you are not me
The lengths that I will go to
The distance in your eyes
Oh no, I’ve said too much
I set it up.”
There you go, clear as mud! Enough of that–what entertained us this week?
Chris tuned into Netflix and finally watched a documentary that’s been sitting in his queue for some time, Life Itself. This film is a moving look into the life of the pioneering film critic Roger Ebert and generates some fantastic conversation not only about the art of criticism but also the complexity of life in general.
Matt took a more grin-and-bear-it attitude this week and forced himself to finally get through the Netflix original Iron Fist. The boys take on the controversy that’s been swirling around this show for weeks and dive into some real talk about film production.
Finally, we take on our movie of the week and dissect Life. Without giving anything away, I think it’s safe to say that Matt ends the show with an entirely different opinion of this movie than he began it with. Is that good or bad? You’ll have to listen to find out!
