It took a little longer than we expected, but the boys from We Are Entertained finally got to see Colossal! There’s been a lot of hype surrounding this movie. Will it live up to it? Without giving anything away, we do want to warn you that it’s not at all what we expected it to be!

This week Chris sits down for a new stand-up special (HA!) by middle-aged dad hero Louis C.K., 2017. Louis is one of our all time favorite comedians and we’re always thrilled to see a new special drop, but at some point, the hits have to stop rolling, right? Find out what Chris thought about this one and let us know if you agree.

Matt succumbs to the fever that is Legion and Chris is a little surprised that it took as long as it did. Turns out we didn’t know that FX was available for streaming to non-cable subscribers. I think we’ll give him a pass this time, but from now on we expect prompt bingeing of Marvel properties!

Finally, we take advantage of living in a major film city and trek down to the single theater in town showing Colossal. The movie should be coming out in wide release soon and I don’t think it’s giving away too much to recommend that all our fans go see it! Neither one of us was expecting it to be as deep a film as it turned out to be and we’d love for you to let us know what you think after you see it.

You can listen on iTunes, Google Play, iHeartRadio, and Stitcher; you can follow the RSS feed; you can download directly; or you can listen right here!

Join us next week and hear what we thought about Circle!

  1. Man, I’ve really been digging your show lately. I couldn’t agree with you guys more about this movie. It was so much more thoughtful and nuanced than I expected it to be. Anne Hathaway is great, but Jason Sudeikus steals the show. He has come a long way since his SNL days.

  2. When you said that nothing compares to Feed the Animals, every Girl Talk fan shouted the same Lil Wayne lyric.

  3. if you like dessert shrimp with cream and the new Baywatch movie… you’ll love these guys. But seriously, I’ve been listening to these guys for a while now and am glad I have. Over the last few years the format has settled in and I really enjoy hearing about content I’ve not seen or heard. They achieve a good balance of funny vs nerdy vs nobody know what the hell they’re talking about.

    PS – Velma was hot
