Re-Roll: This Week’s Tabletop Game News

Re-Roll Tabletop Games

Here are the latest announcements and stories that caught our eyes this week:

  • Marking the 30th anniversary of the game, there’s a new version of Warhammer 40K out. Best part? You can still use your old armies.
  • After the bombs fell, we walked the wastelands, looking for caps and Nuka Cola. Now Modiphius Entertainment brings us a miniatures game based on the Fallout series of video games. Fallout: Wasteland Warfare has a bunch of great minis and will be available for pre-order beginning this summer.
  • Catalyst Games is partnering with Wizards of the Coast to bring you a Dungeons & Dragons themed deckbuilder called Dragonfire (yes!!!). The game will be based on Catalyst’s Shadowrun: Crossfire, so if you’re familiar with that game, you may have a leg up on your fellow adventurers.
  • So you’re addicted to Star Wars Destiny but tired playing the same packs over and over? Good news, There’s a new booster pack on the way to stores this coming week. Spirit of Rebellion will bring 160 new cards, spanning all the movies but focusing on Rogue One.
  • Looney Lab launched a new line of adult-themed games recently and the next game under their moniker, Fully Baked, will be launching at the end of May. Stoner Loonacy is a tiny game that brings the art of Stoner Fluxx to their popular Loonacy game. (They couldn’t have released it last Thursday?)
  • There’s a handful of big titles hitting game store shelves next week. Unfair, the Kickstarted amusement park card game that challenges players to build their own parks releases May 5. Also Kickstarted, NSKN’s Mistfall: Heart of the Mists, a cooperative card-based adventure game, is scheduled to show at stores on Wednesday. If you’ve hoped to add the Takenoko Collector’s Edition or Chibis Collector’s Edition to your collection, reprints of both will be on store shelves midweek. Finally, the popular area control game, 1754: Conquest completes its Birth of America Colonial Trilogy with The French and Indian War, due in stores Wednesday.
  • Hearty congratulations to one of GeekDad’s favorites, Clank! (read review), which scored a Mensa Select award, along with some other great games including Amalgam, Around the World in 80 Days, Harry Potter Hogwarts Battle (read review), Imagine (read review).
