Recreate the Space Race With the LEGO NASA Apollo Saturn V

Entertainment Featured Geek Culture Products Toys

Is there a more iconic rocket in the history of space travel? The Saturn V was (and still is) the tallest, heaviest, and most powerful rocket in NASA history. It was the launch vehicle for 12 Apollo missions, including the six manned moon landings and the ill-fated Apollo 13. As such, it was also the rocket that carried Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin, and Michael Collins into history aboard Apollo 11 in 1969.

And now, thanks to the LEGO Ideas program, you can build your very own to display alongside your Millennium Falcon.

The Saturn V features three removable rocket stages, including the S-IVB third stage with the lunar lander and lunar orbiter. The set also includes three stands to display the model horizontally and three astronaut microfigures.

It’s also big. Like, really big. The LEGO Saturn V is approximately 1:110 scale and is a meter long. Technically, it measures 39″ (100 cm) high and 6″ (17 cm) in diameter.

The set includes 1,969 pieces (an awesome shout out to Apollo 11), will retail for $119.99, and goes on sale June 1.
