Kingston reveals a new all in one headset, the HyperX Cloud Revolver S Premium.
Like many of you, I have been searching for a great headset that I can use for all of my gaming needs. Having different pieces of equipment for my PC, Xbox One, PS4 and Wii U can be both cumbersome and expensive. Being able to consolidate those needs into one high-performance headset is something that I need. That is where the HyperX Cloud Revolver S Premium comes into play. Its promise of playability across all of my platforms made me giddy at the thought of trying out this new headset.
The first thing I noticed when I took the Hyperx Revolver S Premium out of the box was a feeling of sturdy durability. It is coated in a light grippy rubber which gives it a good feel.
After attaching the boom mic, I placed it on my head and was pleased with how light the unit is. The ear pieces feel comfortable on my rather large head. So far, even without plugging it in, it compared favorably to my Turtle Beach and Plantronics headsets.
The next thing I did was try the HyperX out on different platforms and games.
On the PC, I tested it with Mass Effect: Andromeda; on Xbox One, I used Resident Evil 7; on PS4, Nioh; and lastly, with Wii U, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. The HyperX worked exceptionally with each platform.
I used the USB Dongle with the PC to get the value of the Dolby engineering. It made for great immersive gameplay on Mass Effect: Andromeda. I then quickly unplugged the unit from the dongle and popped it into my PS4 Dual shock controller.
Once again, great quality and it gave me the advantage of being able to hear the enemies at my heals in Nioh. Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild never sounded as good as it did through these headsets. I was able to play the Wii U in bed without interfering with my wife’s sleep and have a great experience. The Xbox One gave me a bit of pop and crackle in my headset but I think that may have more to do with the audio port in the Xbox One Controller than the HyperX headset.
My only gripe might be that without the dongle, there are not sound controls on the headset itself. That is a minor issue but may influence some of you.

I would definitely recommend the HyperX Cloud Revolver S Premium Gaming Headset to anyone looking for an all-in-one gaming sound solution. The $149.99 price tag may be steep to some of you but when you consider you can use it for all of your devices the price is a bargain especially for this level of quality.
