On New Year’s Day, Marian Call released the first single and title track from her upcoming album, Standing Stones. Also, the album is now available for pre-order and you better believe you want it.
If you are not familiar with Marian Call, she is an amazingly talented independent musician who travels the world to play in people’s living rooms. Among geeks, she is known for songs about Firefly, Battlestar Galactica, zombies, Mr. Darcy, travel, space and science, using a typewriter as a musical instrument, and much more.
In 2015, she successfully Kickstarted Standing Stones. After a lot of blood, sweat, and tears–both literally and figuratively–the album is now available for pre-order. You can listen to the title track below:
Standing Stones by Marian Call
Standing Stones is yet another departure from what some may consider Marian’s signature work. Though, if you know Marian, this new music is very much her soul. Her previous album, Sketchbook, was also a departure with extremely personal and raw songs. Standing Stones was inspired by many things, including the Middle Ages text The Book of Hours.

I’m part of Marian Call’s Donors’ Circle and I can tell you from having the privilege of previewing some raw tracks, this newest album–complete with loud guitars and drums and many backing vocals–is going to be amazing.
