Here are the latest announcements and stories that caught our eyes this week:

  • Break out your BFG–DOOM release this coming week from Fantasy Flight Games!
  • The grandfather of all deck-builders, Dominion, will be hitting shelves in January with a Second Edition Big Box. The set will include the second edition of both the base set and the Intrigue expansion, along with enough base cards to support up to six players.
  • Dungeons & Dragons announced that they would be releasing revised spell decks. Arcane, Druid, Cleric, Bard, Paladin, Ranger, Elemental, and Martial Powers & Races decks will be on shelves in February.
  • Gen Con announced an agreement to stay in Indianapolis until 2021 (and possibly longer). Next year’s 50th anniversary will run from August 17-20.
  • The storytelling game The Extraordinary Adventures of Baron Munchausen gets a second volume from FFG.
  • Asmodee has released a new version of the great Bruno Faidutti game, Citadels, along with a re-release of the original game.
  • CMON, this week, released a couple of crazy and creepy expansions for Eric Lang’s disturbing game, The Others. Beta Team and Sons of Ragnorak are available today.
  • If you want to race all over Gotham attempting bank heists and evading the Caped Crusader, check out Batman: The Animated Series Dice Game, new from Cryptozoic this week.
  • WizKids just released a 4-8 player game about a freighter (with a traitor) in space called Burke’s Gambit. Read more here.
  • And in one of the most interesting pieces of news this week, Restoration Games (Rob Daviau is involved) is a company that takes old games from your childhood (or before) and dresses them up to meet the needs of modern gaming. Their first three titles were announced: Stop Thief, the old Parker Brothers game, Dragonmaster, a trick-taker, and Downforce, a car race themed game. All will release at Gen Con–can’t wait!
