Anyone who flies a lot knows that airlines are currently going out of their way to make travel—particularly in coach—as uncomfortable as they possibly can. Thankfully, lots of folks have come in to try to help that with neck pillows. The problem with the neck pillows I’ve had in the past has been that they’re bulky and hard to travel with when you aren’t on the plane using it as a pillow. They’re also fairly inconvenient to store for all of the time you’re on traveling.

AirComfy has designed a pillow that is the best of both worlds: it’s a good, comfortable pillow for flights, and it’s inflatable so it’s a much smaller package to carry around the airport and it’s easy to store when you get home.

When inflated, the pillow is roughly the same size as its competitors. It isn’t nearly as soft as others I’ve had–air doesn’t compress as well as whatever materials other pillows use for stuffing–but once I figured out to not inflate it absolutely full I found it just as comfortable as the others.

Thankfully, the pillow is designed to self-inflate, so you won’t need to worry about sitting there on the plane blowing into anything. There’s a large button on the pillow (visible in the foreground in the picture above) that you simply need to push a bunch of times to inflate. It takes less than a minute. To deflate, you open a valve and push down a button inside, so it deflates just as quickly and easily.

The AirComfy also comes with a storage bag with a carabiner that, again, makes this pillow much, much easier to take with you than its non-inflatable competitors. The lining, a very soft micro-velvet, is removable for easy cleaning.

All in all, I found the AirComfy to be just that—comfy—while also easy to transport. I definitely like it better than the older pillows I’ve had in the past, and while I’m glad I don’t travel nearly as much as I used to, I’ll be bringing this pillow with me whenever I do need to fly in the future.

The AirComfy Inflatable Travel Pillow is available from Amazon.

Note: AirComfy provided me with a sample pillow to try out, but the opinions are my own.
