What better way to celebrate Halloween than with a family trip to the movies? But even if you missed this week’s limited engagement of Shin Godzilla, you still have a chance to get in on the seasonal cinematic action.

Yo-kai Watch: The Movie—the highest-grossing Japanese film of 2015—is in American theaters this Saturday, October 15th for a very special one-day-only Fathom Event. Boasting the same talented voice cast as the hit Disney XD animated television series, it features the continued adventures of Nate Adams, who, through the power of his Yo-kai Watch, battles and befriends the quirky and often troublesome spirits that exist invisibly alongside us.

This feature generally follows along with the narrative for the recently released Yo-kai Watch 2 video game (which I reviewed earlier), and sees Nate travel back in time to discover the hidden history of the Yo-kai Watch itself. The film also introduces Hovernyan, a flying cat Yo-kai, and attendees will have a chance to receive a special, limited edition Hovernyan Yo-Motion Yo-kai Medal—while supplies last.

Yo-Motion Medals, like this exclusive Hovernyan, interact with Hasbro’s new Yo-kai Watch Model Zero toy; the Model Zero allows you to play game- and cartoon-accurate sounds from Yo-Motion Medals (and your previous generation Yo-kai Watch Medals), but by changing the rotating selector, you can also view animated images of your Yo-kai performing their signature moves projected on a wall or similar surface.

In addition, the QR codes on these Medals can be used to unlock special in-game content for Yo-kai Watch 2: Bony Spirits and Fleshy Souls, as well as in the Yo-kai Watch mobile apps, Yo-kai Watch Land and Yo-kai Watch Wibble Wobble (which will have some special movie-specific content available October 14th – October 23rd). Fans can expand their Yo-kai collections with new Yo-Motion Medal blind bags, which can be organized and displayed within the new Medallium Collection Book 2.

For more information on Yo-kai Watch toys and accessories, check out the official Hasbro Toy Shop. And don’t forget to visit Fathom Events for a full listing of times and locations for this weekend’s special Yo-kai Watch: The Movie event!
