Last month, Disney launched a contest for kids with four fan-created stop-motion animation videos featuring toys from the upcoming and much-anticipated Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. The contest, named “My Rogue Story,” is meant to inspire kids to put a new spin on the movie using toys and/or DIY projects to create a two-minute video. Disney Stores in North America have been giving out “starter packs” of toys so as not to require much expense for entrants, but supplies are/were limited.

The contest ends this Friday, October 21, so there isn’t much time to work on this for someone who hasn’t already started, but with the technology available these days I’m sure there are many kids who (with possibly a little help) could make something pretty cool by Friday. It’s open to kids ages 8-12.

The prize for the contest is that the winner and a parent/guardian will get a trip to San Francisco, where they’ll see an advance screening of the movie and also get to see their winning entry on the big screen. More details on the contest, including information on how to enter and a tutorial about how to make a stop-motion video, go to Disney.com/MyRogueStory.

The folks at Disney have been kind enough to give GeekDad awesome prize packs of Hasbro toys to give away to three of our readers. The packs, valued at about $103 each, include one vehicle, three 3.75-in. figures, and two 2-packs of 3.75-in figures.
