Here are the latest announcements and stories that caught our eyes this week:
- Cryptozoic announced they would be publishing Tower Guard Games’ 2-4 player Train Heist, a cooperative train robbery game in 2017.
- In other train robbery news, Colt Express is coming to iOS, Android, and PC next month. The Spiel des Jahres winner will feature a story mode and multiplayer mode, and sell for $9.99.
- AEG’s annual Black Box has always contained small games and add-ons to existing AEG games. This year, it’s a single game that players are challenged to break. Beyond that is a lot of mystery, but you can find out what game it is when it releases on Black Friday.
- White Wizard will host their own games fair, November 18-21 in the Boston Area. Play Hero Realms, Star Realms, and compete for prizes. Register here.
- The awesome deck shuffling game, Smash Up is coming to Steam in a free to play version (starter packs also available).
- All of Digidiced‘s games (Agricola, Le Havre, Patchwork) will be on sale from now until Sunday as recognition of this weekend’s fun at Spiel.
- Another game coming to mobile devices is the always fun Spot It!, in a version called Dobble Challenges. It will be free to download and play this fall.
- Tomorrow, (October 15) every Barnes & Noble will be holding a tabletop game night at 7PM, local times. There will be a variety of games – with bonus cards you can win – including Passport Game’s fantastic auction/set collector, Warehouse 51.
- Fantasy Flight announced more news about the expansion of the Android universe with New Angeles, an area control game with a couple of twists.
- Fantasy Flight also announced the first DLC will be coming to the very celebrated Mansions of Madness — and it will only set you back $2.99.
- Asmodee announced Watson & Holmes from Space Cowboys, a competitive deduction game. It will be hitting shelves in early 2017 and, if it’s anything like the other Space Cowboys games, it’s sure to be great.
- Portal announced four new games, coming in 2017: Alien Artifacts, a 4X card game set in space; 51st State: Scavengers, the first expansion to 51st State; Cry Havoc: Aftermath, the first expansion to the popular new game; and Stronhold: Undead, a “re-balancing of the original Undead expansion”.
