In what can likely be thought of as the PR equivalent of having a meeting to plan a meeting, yesterday Nintendo announced that it will reveal the price point and a firm release date for the upcoming Switch hybrid console/portable gaming system… on January 12th.
In a presentation to financial analysts, President Tatsumi Kimishima announced that “major details” will be shared during January’s Nintendo Switch Presentation 2017. While the event itself will take place in Tokyo, it will be livestreamed globally. And, in addition to launch date and price, we’ll also be treated to a look at the lineup of games development.
Nintendo Switch sampling events for invited media and other partners will take place here in the States and in Europe on as-yet undisclosed dates sometime after this global presser, with opportunities for the public to participate in other hands-on events around the same time.
