GBBP 93: Paige O’Hara & Richard White

The Great Big Beautiful Podcast, Episode 93: Paige O’Hara & Richard White

You can listen on iTunes, Google Play, Stitcher, and YouTube; you can follow the RSS feed; or you can listen right here!

Today, we’re thrilled to be joined by Paige O’Hara and Richard White, the original voices of Belle and Gaston from Disney’s Beauty and the Beast. Believe it or not, the film is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, was just rereleased on Blu-ray, and will soon have a long-awaited live-action remake (starring Emma Watson).

We were fortunate enough to talk to Paige and Richard together for this episode, and it was an absolute thrill. (Unfortunately, Robby Benson, who played the Beast, was sick and couldn’t make it.) On the episode, we talk about their experiences making the film, having such a monumental film be the starting point of their careers, reprising the roles throughout the years, the return of the Disney musical, and what they do away from acting.

We should also mention that Paige was awarded the Disney Legend award in 2011, and she makes the fifth Legend to be on our humble little show. (Floyd Norman, Andreas Deja, Bill Farmer, and Russi Taylor were the others.)
