“Weird Al” and Disney’s ‘Milo Murphy’s Law’ Gets Premiere Date, Ming-Na Wen’s Voice

Entertainment Featured Geek Culture Television

The funny, intelligent, wonderfully weird cartoon that was Phineas and Ferb had its finale over a year ago, but its creators, Dan Povenmire and Jeff “Swampy” Marsh, have not been resting on their laurels. Back in February, it was officially announced that the two, along with the always-awesome “Weird Al” Yankovic, were working on a new show for the fall of 2016 titled Milo Murphy’s Law for Disney XD.

Today comes the announcement of an official premiere date for the show: 8:00pm EDT on Monday, October 3. Also released today is a video of the show’s title sequence, sung by Weird Al, which gives you a pretty good idea of what the show’s premise is:

Also announced today are new voice actors for the show’s already-stellar cast, including the always-awesome Ming-Na Wen, who voiced the title character in Disney’s Mulan 18 years ago. Her Agents of SHIELD co-star Brett Dalton is also voicing a character in the show – in fact, both of them are voicing characters described as “high-level time agents,” which sounds intriguing. Povenmire and Marsh, who memorably voiced Phineas and Ferb‘s Dr. Doofenshmirtz and Major Monogram respectively, will be providing voices for “pistachio protectors from the future Vinnie Dakota and Balthazar Cavendish.” (I don’t know what a “pistachio protector” is, exactly, but for my money anything involving pistachios is likely to be worthwhile.) Yankovic will be voicing the title character, and Milo’s best friends Melissa Chase and Zack Underwood will be voiced by Girl Meets World‘s Sabrina Carpenter and Kirby Buckets‘s MeKai Curtis, respectively.

Milo Murphy’s Law will premiere on Disney XD Monday, October 3, 2016 at 8:00pm EDT. A full-length preview of the first episode will be available on the Disney XD app and Disney XD’s YouTube Channel beginning Monday, September 26.

  1. Povenmire and Marsh have earned enough goodwill that if their next series was “Let’s Watch Paint Dry” I’d watch it. But this show seems much better…
