This summer, you won’t find the Avengers on the big screen—you’ll find them on your nails! Thanks to a team-up between Marvel and Jamberry, licensed nail wraps featuring some of Marvel’s greatest heroes are now available.
I was able to get my hands on the new wraps (well, get the new wraps on my hands), and I’m enchanted by the designs. Jamberry’s wraps may be a little more complicated to get on your nails than simply painting them, but the effort is well worth it. If you’re a fan of Marvel, the subtle designs let you take your love of comics everywhere with you.
If you pick up a pack of the Marvel-inspired designs, be sure to follow the application instructions. I attempted to skip a step for my first application out of laziness—not applying heat with a blow dryer—and the wraps were ill-fitting and wrinkled. All you need is a blow dryer, held on the wraps for just a few seconds before placing them on your nails, and it makes a world of difference.
The pink Captain America wraps were put to the test thanks to our typical summer activities. Swimming, sunshine, sidewalk chalk, and more tested the durability of Jamberry’s wraps. The edges began to peel back with all that wear and tear, unfortunately, but were easy to fix with a nail file.
The wraps fared much better on my toes, which will probably be the case for most busy, hands-on moms. Each package of Jamberry wraps comes with enough wraps for nails and toes in a variety of sizes, so you’ll be able to find just the right fit for your fingers and toes.
The Marvel-inspired designs are what makes the wraps worth picking up. The sparkly Captain America shield and shiny Iron Man wraps are sure to make a statement, and the classic comic pages feature some of your favorite characters like Black Widow, She-Hulk, and Hawkeye.
The price tag of $18 may make you hesitate, but each package comes with enough wraps for multiple manicures and pedicures. And if you have small hands and you’re concerned about needing to cut the wraps to fit, Jamberry even offers one design in a “junior” size just for you. (Or, you know, if you’re sharing with the kids.)
