Cryptozoic, obviously not content with the mountains of money they’re going to rake in with their DC Comics Bombshells vinyl figures, is set to release another Bombshells-themed vinyl figure. This time, collectors can try their hand at finding all of the mini figures in a blind-tin series called, appropriately enough, DC Comics Lil’ Bombshells.
The retro art style is carried over from the taller versions. Their outfits are the same; but with rounder, more cartoonish, faces. At just 2.75″, shelf space won’t be an issue. What will be hard is justifying how you had to buy an entire case just so that you could get every single one. There are ten figures in the first wave (not counting the “black and white” Harley and Wonder Woman).

Even though they’re smaller figures, they don’t skimp on the detail. Harley has her mallet. Flash has roller skates and a shake. Batwoman even has her baseball bat (which seems silly; but is totally consistent with her characterization in the Bombshells comics). Other than the 1:72 rare deco versions, the characters are evenly distributed in each case.
SDCC attendees will have the first shot at grabbing some Lil’ Bombshells figures at the Cryptozoic booth (#115) this week, with them popping up at national retailers soon after. I should point out, while I’m not a packaging nut; I really like the tins in which the figures are packaged. Not only does it keep the finer details from getting broken or bent, you can do fun things like this (stick around till the end of the video):
So if you’re a fan of the DC Comics: Bombshells series, but don’t have the shelf space or budget for the 7″ Bombshells figures, grab a couple of Lil’ Bombshells statues instead! Just be careful. Once you start, it’s going to be hard to stop!
