If you’re a LEGO and a Disney fan, today’s pretty much the day you’ve been waiting for since the two first announced they were joining forces a few years ago. Until now, we’ve had a few Disney Princess sets and a minifigure collection of classic characters. Nothing to scoff at, for sure, but if the Cinderella’s Romantic Castle set left you a little…unfulfilled, have I got great news for you! Where the existing Cinderella’s Castle made an attempt to recall the castle from the film, it just wasn’t close enough to the “real” Cinderella’s Castle for many of us – by which I mean the centerpiece of the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World, of course.

LEGO and Disney both like money, so the newest collaboration – Disney Castle – was really only a matter of time. And let me tell you, this thing was worth that wait. Hi-res photos (and more details) below, but first, the specs:

  • LEGO 71040: Disney Castle
  • Comes with five minifigures: Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Tinker Bell
  • Ages 16+
  • 4,080 pieces
  • USD $349.99
  • Available direct from shop.LEGO.com on September 1, 2016.
  • Castle measures over 29″ (74cm) high, 17″ (44cm) wide, and 12″ (31cm) deep.

Bravo, LEGO, this is one gorgeous set. Now we can only hope that Spaceship Earth is next on the list….

  1. Very disappointed could have been so much better , a castle that went all round and open to reveal, maybe a part 2 the back of castle, I did not purchase due to disappointment

  2. Complaints? Really?

Lego makes the best quality blocks and models. If you want cheap, buy Mega Bloks.
The model isn’t big enough, or doesn’t include enough? How big would you like it? A meter square at the bottom? Where would you keep it? How would you finance it?

This is very nicely done. I love the small hints at the various movies. A wonderfully designed model.
