I’m a sucker for a cute stuffty. I still have many of my stuffed animals from when I was a kid, and, yes, I admit that some of my own personal stuffed animals are younger than my kids. But I’ve had to be choosy, otherwise they take over the place. I prefer high-quality, squishy, nice-to-cuddle varieties. And it’s quite a bonus if the stuffed animal also does its own good in the world.

Bears for Humanity is one such worthwhile company. They make a variety of stuffed animals, such as their large selection of bears of various sizes, but they also have animals such as a cat, a dog, a giraffe, a turtle, a lion, a dog, a dinosaur, and more. Accessories, such as a bowtie, are even available.

I had the opportunity to “test out” a few of the Animal Pals line of their plushies and found them to be the perfect companions. They are not too big nor too small, at about 12 inches tall, 4 1/2 inches wide, and half a pound in weight. Though they have no beans or beads inside, they feel slightly heavy for their size, which I like. They are soft, squishy, floppy, cuddly, and have plenty of bounce-back when you squeeze them. I’ve decided that the cat is my new best friend.

These stuffed animals don’t just seem to be quality; they are made with quality materials and via respectable processes. They are made with 100% GOTS-certified organic cotton with no pesticides. They are hypoallergenic, hand sewn, and built in the United States. The fill is made from recycled plastic bottles and caps, which explains why they are a bit heavy for their size. No polyester fiberfill here. You can feel safe and confident about giving one of these to a baby or small child (there are also no buttons or parts to come off), or to your favorite stuffed-animal-loving adult.

It’s not just the stuffed animals that are special, though. For every bear sold, the company donates a bear just like it to a needy child through their network of local and national charities. Purchasers can also include a custom message along with the donated bear. You can learn more about the charities on the Bears for Humanity website. Additionally, the company uses Fair Trade practices and employs at-risk women from welfare-to-work programs in the United States.

So for a quality toy that you can feel good about giving, Bears for Humanity is a company worth considering. And from now until the end of August, use the free shipping code FREESHIPPING4MOM to get free shipping when you order through the Bears for Humanity website.
