I don’t attend cons all that often, but mostly just from inconvenient scheduling. Today, though, I got to spend Father’s Day at the Denver Comic Con with my son, and honestly I had forgotten how much I enjoy them (and how much better they are with my son.)

And that in turn got me to thinking about what others like so much about attending these things. Of course, feel free to let me know in the comments which options I forgot to include.

Last Week’s Results

I’d like to tell you that there wasn’t a poll last week because of something to do with Bothans or interstellar highway construction, but I have to be honest here and say that time just got away from me.

So last last week’s poll was about the science in science fiction. The Martian was the runaway favorite here, pulling in 57% of the vote. In second was 2001: A Space Odyssey, but it was a very distant second, with only 18%. Contact and Andromeda Strain tied in third with 10%, while apparently readers couldn’t overlook the orbital dynamics issues in Gravity, with got only half as many votes to come in last place.
