RWBY Volume 2 in Theaters

If you are a fan of Rooster Teeth Studios’ animated adventure RWBY, you’ll find there is more than one way to enjoy it. RWBY has gained an enthusiastic following, and fans gathered to theatrical screenings of the collected episodes of RWBY Volume 1 back in late April.

The distributed event was popular enough that RWBY Volume 2 will be coming to theaters in the U.S., Canada, the U.K., Australia, New Zealand, and Ireland at the end of July. Check the Team RWBY website to find a Tugg cinema on demand screening in your area. In the U.S. you can even request to host your own screening, if there isn’t one near you.

What’s RWBY?

If you are not familiar with the show, RWBY is set in the World of Remnant, where human civilization exists inside the borders of four surviving kingdoms. Outside of the kingdoms, the land is overrun with the creatures of Grimm, who seem driven to destroy humanity and all of its works.

Huntsmen are heroes who stand against the creatures of Grimm and the unknown powers behind them. The story centers around the lives of young Huntsmen in training at Beacon Academy, including the four whose names make up the show’s title: Ruby, Weiss, Blake, and Yang. All of the characters in RWBY are based on people from myths, fairy tales, and stories. Ruby is loosely based on Little Red Riding Hood, Weiss alludes to Snow White, Blake to Belle from Beauty and the Beast, and Yang to Goldilocks.

RWBY Chibi is Pure Cuteness

While fans are waiting for RWBY Volume 4 to premiere this fall, Rooster Teeth has spun off a new series featuring the show’s primary characters… in chibi form. Chibi is a term used to describe small, cute characters in Japanese anime and manga.

While each succeeding volume of RWBY has grown progressively darker, the new RWBY Chibi is pure cuteness and laughs. If you have concerns about younger kids watching the more serious tone that RWBY has taken, RWBY Chibi is a fun alternative. There is an occasional innuendo that should fly over the heads of most kids. Episode 6 makes a joking reference to fans’ pain over the death of a beloved character in RWBY Volume 3, which will be a spoiler if you haven’t seen it yet.

New episodes of RWBY Chibi are released on Saturdays, which gives you something to watch while you anxiously await RWBY Volume 4. Check out the first episode below!
