LEGO is like chocolate. You just can’t have enough of this stuff. Am I right? Just assume I’m right, you won’t regret it. On Kickstarter, I’ve found a new favorite thing: Brik Tiles. Created by Jolt Team, these sticky-backed, LEGO compatible tiles attach to your wall, allowing your home to become a 3D hotbed of LEGO-based creativity. With Brik Tile, any surface can become interactive.

Jolt Team has previously Kickstarted the Brik Book, a similar stick-on that turns your Mac into a LEGO lover’s happy place. With this new product, though, the bar has risen much higher. Unlike regular LEGO plates, the Brik Tile has square-cut edge, meaning that it can be combined with other Brik Tiles to upgrade a large surface without interruption. This allows your kid’s play-space (or your own) to evolve into a much more dynamic environment.

The early bird funding option will get you two Brik Tiles for $15. This funding level also comes with 300 Briks (LEGO-compatible building blocks), and a couple of Brik Clips, pictured above. These pieces are a bonus way of interacting with you Brik Tiles, and highlight a fun feature: each Brik Tile can support up to 6 pounds! This fortitude means that build-your-own LEGO shelves are an option, and a weight-bearing one, at that. One could even hang game controllers, phone chargers, spare USB memory sticks, and other miscellany in a convenient location.

I’m excited to get my hands on some, one day. I’m seeing visions of Brik Tile/Sugru creations all over my house. I’m anxious to see what else Jolt Team comes up with!
