Starting May 15th, you can experience the outer space action of all four Robotech Wars—not to mention all the romance, music, and questionable leadership decisions—for free on Sony’s Crackle streaming service. Joining Harmony Gold’s original hacked together space opera is the 2006 feature-length sequel Robotech: The Shadow Chronicles.
The Robotech property will serve to anchor Crackle’s new genre channel Crackle Anime. And, of course, Sony used this recent announcement to remind us that a live-action theatrical release of Robotech is currently in development at Sony Pictures. Still, that gives you plenty of time to experience the classics—be it again or for the first time.
Only Robotech content so far that I’ve seen seems to be the trailer for the series. Will keep looking, though.
