I’m not gonna lie, we’re huge fans of the Disney Afternoon here at the GBBP. It was pretty hard to ignore in the 90s and even though that’s not really our “childhood” – we’re old men – it was still pretty formative. Some genuinely classic animated shows comprised that afternoon block of television.

If you’re also a fan of the Disney Afternoon, then you may want to check out some of our earlier episodes – particularly the ones where we chat with Greg Weisman (creator of Gargoyles), Tad Stones (creator of Darkwing Duck), Jim Cummings (voice of Darkwing Duck, Monterey Jack, Don Karnage, Zummi Gummi, Winnie the Pooh, and Tigger), and Bill Farmer (voice of Goofy).

This week, though, we’re thrilled to have Jymn Magon on the show. Jymn was in on the ground floor for the birth of Disney’s television animation department, and he went on to become co-creator of Chip n’ Dale Rescue Rangers, TaleSpin, Gummi Bears, and Goof Troop. He also had various creative roles on DuckTales, Winnie the Pooh, and Quack Pack, and he wrote A Goofy Movie, which just celebrated its 20th anniversary if you can believe it.

On top of all that, he has an incredibly impressive career in animation away from Disney, and he was the driving creative force behind the Read-Along Book and Records that I’m sure many of you remember fondly (I know I do), including these gems…
