This week, Starz and Freemantle Media began production on the 10 episode first season of the adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s American Gods. The award-winning novel is a story about a brewing battle between old gods that immigrants brought with them to America and the new gods who are celebrated for celebrity, technology, and money. It is a brilliant story and the series will hopefully remain true to Gaiman’s writing. In addition to the production announcement, further casting decisions were revealed. We already knew about Ian McShane as Wednesday and Ricky Whittle as Shadow, along with a few others, but a couple of big names were added to the cast today.
