For better or worse (most likely worse), Wonder Woman joins the DC Big Screen line-up this week with the release (finally!) of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. While much hand-wringing has occurred online about the casting of Ben Affleck as the Caped Crusader, relatively little that I saw discussed Gal Gadot donning the bullet-proof bracelets. So this week, we’d like your take on the character: which of the actresses below do you feel is the truly iconic portrayal of the Amazon princess?

(Note: Most of these women only played the voice of Wonder Woman, because most of the times she’s appeared on screen have been in various animated shows. It’d have turned out to be a very short poll if I only included women who appeared in live-action adaptations of the superhero.)

(Another note: the list is taken from a simple Google search for “actresses who have played Wonder Woman,” so if your favorite didn’t make the list, take it up with Google.)

Last Week’s Results

No great surprise: the Fourth is with most of you, with Star Wars Day taking 41% of the votes. Pi Day came in second at 24%, with International Talk Like a Pirate Day and Geek Pride Day each pulling in 18%.

  1. I’m slightly annoyed that Google did not mention Rosario Dawson from Justice League: Throne of Atlantis and the upcoming Justice League vs Teen Titans, but I’ll live.

  2. Lynda Carter has always been the most beautiful woman in the world and was once called that in 1977 and apply so. Gal Gadot has more of a generic substandard beauty in comparison. I also hated the over the top storyline that played out like a ridiculous video game. The story, the costume the movie itself was dark and violent. Wonder Woman looked more like The Terminator than the compassionate and peace loving woman the comic book and tv Wonder Woman always was. I’m glad I own the tv series dvds. I don’t care about what the newbies think, they don’t know any better or about really good acting.
