How time flies. One year ago this week, we launched The Great Big Beautiful Podcast as a Disney-focused podcast. And we really had no idea what we were doing. Over the year, the show morphed into something else entirely, we’ve been privileged to talk to a LOT of great guests, and we’re just getting started. But we still don’t really know what we’re doing.

If you’re new the show and looking for a great place to start, I’d really recommend starting with whichever guest interests you the most. We’ve talked to actors, animators, authors, directors, artists, producers, legends, and icons. We’ve had on everyone from Wil Wheaton to Jonathan Frakes, from Alex Hirsch (creator of Gravity Falls) to Genndy Tartakovsky (creator of Samurai Jack), from Ming-Na Wen to Russi Taylor (voice of Minnie Mouse), from Mary Pope Osborne to Kevin Conroy. And that’s not even mentioning both the creator of Darkwing Duck and the voice of Darkwing Duck!

To celebrate our anniversary, we decided to conduct an experiment. We had a live Google Hangout and invited some friends, listeners, and fellow podcasters on to just chat about whatever they wanted. It was a great time, and it was fun to have so many people on at the same time, but I’m not sure we’ll be doing it again anytime soon.

Thanks to everyone who took part in the chat (and who watched live). Apologies to those who got shut out. But most of all, thanks to YOU, the listeners. Thank you for listening, thank you for subscribing, and thank you for your support. It means a lot. Really and truly.

Even if you don’t listen to this episode, please do me a favor and listen to the first minute. It’s absolutely incredible, and Justin did an amazing job editing it together. Go on and listen below.

Here’s to another year of celebrating geek culture by talking to the people who create it.
