Gameroom Junkies Podcast #60 - SKYCURSER Arcade Game

What’s old is new again, and so it is with SKYCURSER, a newly-developed side-scrolling shoot-em-up arcade game created for the classic JAMMA arcade environment. In SKYCURSER, a lone pilot in a remarkably well-armed airplane battles humans, animals, and machines infected by a plague-like disease emitted from a star. In episode sixty of the Gameroom Junkies Podcast, we sit down and interview part of the development team responsible for bringing the new retro-style arcade game to the modern arcade marketplace.

Speaking of curses, how about one that’s a blessing as well? In this episode, we talk about our recent experience of an arcade operator “warehouse raid.” We’ve been on several in our years of collecting, but each raid is exciting until you ask yourself, “Where am I gonna put all this stuff?” Oh well… it’s a good problem to have. We go into detail about our adventure, but if you want even more detail, check out our video of the operator’s stash below! (Hey, speaking of, have you subscribed to our YouTube channel yet?)

Don’t worry, we’re not all arcade-related this episode. In honor of the upcoming Ghostbusters pinball machine from Stern (which is the worst-kept secret in pinball), we give our official “Top 5” list of “ghostly” pinball machines. If all that wasn’t exciting enough, we also indulge our friend Bryan for another round of “Console Corner” for his thoughts on the new Legend of Zelda game, The Division, Undertale, and more. If you’re a gamer, there’s something for everybody in this episode of Gameroom Junkies!
