Have you always thought that you have what it takes to work as an artist or a writer in the world of comics? DC Comics is looking for aspiring talent, and has launched a pair if workshops–led by some of DC’s top talent–to help identify and train new writers and artists.
Building on 2015’s pilot program, DC’s Artists Workshop is taking applications during the month of April. Candidates will be expected to submit sample work from their portfolio. The Artist’s Workshop was developed by Jim Lee, Klaus Janson, and Andy Kubert. You can view the works from last fall’s inaugural workshop to get an idea of the opportunities available to successful applicants.
The Writer’s Workshop, developed by Scott Snyder, is accepting applications throughout the month of May. Selected candidates will participate in online, weekly interactive seminars running from October 2016 through January 2017, with the cream of the writing crop participating in additional training exercises at the end of the program.
There are no excuses, folks. Not all who apply will be accepted, but I can guarantee that you won’t be accepted if you don’t apply for these workshops. If you think you have what it takes to be a professional in the comics industry, are serious about your craft, and are committed to putting in the work, then the DC Comics Talent Development Workshops may be your way into the world of producing comics for one of the most renown names in the business.
