Launched late last week, timed to help promote March’s Batman vs Superman: Dawn of There’s No Way This All Will Fit On Your Local Theater’s Marquee, DC Comics presents DC All Access, a new mobile app for iOS and Android mobile devices.
The release-day bugs appear to have been worked out, content has been added, and the app is–in my experience–now stable. Within the app, users can find updated news and features on their favorite DC Comics properties, including the aforementioned Batman vs Superman movie and this summer’s Suicide Squad film. DC All Access also features the Berlanti-produced DC television series The Flash, Arrow, Legends of Tomorrow, and Supergirl. On the gaming front, the app takes a look at DC’s Injustice: Gods Among Us and the Batman: Arkham series. Finally, the app features the recently released Dark Knight III and the Leap Day birthday of Superman.
The app also contains social media tools, challenges, polls, and, to celebrate DC All Access‘ release, a sweepstakes with the chance to win a trip to the premiere of Batman vs Superman.
DC All Access is available to download for free in the iTunes Store and Google Play.
But still no comics……
According to the press release, a comic reader should be a part of the app at some point:
“BURBANK, Calif. (February 25, 2016) – DC Entertainment and Warner Bros. Entertainment announced today the launch of a new mobile app, DC All Access, bringing together the entire DC Universe of films, TV, video games, comics and more in a new, interactive environment built specifically for DC fans. DC All Access offers exclusive news and reveals, original videos, official DC news streams, exclusive DC character emojis, movie tickets, fan sweepstakes and giveaways, A COMIC BOOK READER (my emphasis added) and more.”
