sock it to me

Sock It To Me–once a catchphrase of Rowan & Martin’s Laugh-In–is now better known as the Northwest’s foremost purveyor of delightfully comfortable novelty socks. In fact, there’s a fair chance that, even if you don’t realize it, you have some of their products tucked away in your dresser.

But Sock It To Me is about more than just bringing a little pizazz to your sock drawer; now it’s set its sights on your underpants.

Yes, Sock It To Me’s new spring line now features underwear–for guys and gals–in the same fun, vibrant styles as those much-loved socks. As revealed in their seasonal lookbook, designs from “Bacon” to “Planets” to “Sasquatch” now have matching boxer briefs and bikini panties to coordinate with your very favorite Sock It To Me footwear.

I’ve actually been wearing Sock It To Me boxer briefs for a couple of weeks now, and I’ve been very impressed with their quality. They’re properly sized with a soft, comfortable waistband, and a 4″ inseam keeps the legs from riding up during daily wear.

Just as importantly, they continue to look as bright and vibrant as the day I first got them–even after numerous washing/drying cycles. The pop art colors of “Blamo!!!” still shine, and the contrast of my favorite, the “Dapper Dandies,” is still striking. Only the deep navy of my “T-Rex” pair shows any signs of color loss–though that’s only slightly and just in the dark navy of the pattern’s background.

Made of ultra-soft jersey, the boxer briefs are designed for comfort, with no leg/back seams to bind or creep. My only caution to potential wearers is to mention that Sock It To Me employs a no-fly design, instead electing to use an additional gusset and contour pouch in the crotch. This makes them comfortable for all-day wear, but relegates the wearer to going over the fence (as opposed to through the gate).

If you’re in the market for a new round of underclothes–or even if you’re looking for a fun and practical gift for a loved one–the crew at Sock It To Me definitely brings the same care and quality to this new underwear line as they have to their trademark socks since 2004. And, when it comes to the clothing that’s closest to your skin, you shouldn’t accept anything less.
