After Pee-wee’s Playhouse premiered on CBS in the mid ’80s, my Saturday mornings were never the same. I’ve been a fan of Paul Reubens’ manic man-child alter ego ever since, even taking the opportunity to see him perform live when he took his Playhouse to Broadway in 2010. In 2014, Shout Factory released the Blu-ray set of the entire Pee-wee’s Playhouse series, and now, even my kids are fans. When it comes to Pee-wee however, it doesn’t get any better than Tim Burton’s classic 1985 film; Pee-Wee’s Big Adventure.

2016 is bringing us the first new Pee-wee adventure in decades, when Netflix premieres Pee-wee’s Big Holiday on March 18th. The first teaser trailer for the film showcases the literal Rube Goldberg machine of whimsical silliness that is Pee-wee Herman. Produced by Judd Apatow and directed by John Lee (The Heart, She Holler), the film follows Pee-wee after he meets a mysterious stranger who inspires him to take his first-ever holiday. Check out the teaser…

Pee-wee’s Big Holiday hits Netflix on March 18th.
