Here’s a gift that’s sure to be appreciated: Netflix!
I was a bit late to Netflix myself–we finally signed up shortly before our third child was born, because my wife expected she’d be stuck sitting for long periods of time for a while, so we tried out the streaming-only service, and we love it. I’ve enjoyed being able to catch up on a lot of TV shows that I missed the first time around (or just want to rewatch), and lately I’ve been especially impressed with the quality of Netflix’s original programming, like Daredevil and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.
Of course, sometimes I think what I really need is the “Browse Endlessly” plan invented by the Onion, because some days I just can’t decide what I want to watch, and instead I fall down the rabbit hole of looking at posters, reading descriptions, and looking up related movies.
I like the fact that we can set up individual accounts, so we have personalized watch lists and viewing history–particularly helpful when my wife is several episodes ahead of me on Jessica Jones and I need to catch up, or when my kids are binge-watching My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic and I don’t want that affecting my recommendations.
