After my post about men carrying purses, I got a lot of feedback. Some men have been carrying purses and/or man-bags for a long time, and many women have given up on purses in general, preferring backpacks and other multi-function bags. I’ve also been reminded how strongly some guys avoid using anything that might be called a “purse.” I can’t say I’m part of the latter category, but I do understand wanting to maintain a masculine identity. In that vein, I’d like to introduce you to the Man-PACK Classic 2.0.
The man-PACK is a cross-body bag designed to be both tactical and practical. It comes in a few different colors, and has many different types of pockets, pouches, and utility spaces. The notable features include:
- A large primary compartment
- Two zippered pockets inside the primary compartment
- One velcro pocket, and one open-ended pouch inside the primary compartment.
- A magnet closed pouch large enough for a sandwich or loose power cables
- A cell-phone pocket on the cross-body strap
- 1 collapsable water bottle pocket, with velcro to fold it down when not in use
- 1 padded hidden conceal-carry pouch large enough for any handgun, iPad, Kindle, or small laptop
- 1 redundant flap over main compartment, with additional fastener for security
The Man-PACK isn’t drowning in pockets, and has no internal dividers, but is a great option for commuting or travelling. As a cross-body bag, I had my doubts about it riding on my hip like a messenger bag. I was worried things might fall out or become jumbled. Thankfully, the main compartments both zip, and, when worn over the hip, the hidden compartment is easily accessed.
That last bit might seem a little odd, but it’s actually really useful. Its primary purpose? To hold your conceal-carry firearm. Its most practical purpose? Tablets. Instead of having to manage the ordeal of opening the flap, unzipping the primary compartment, and dealing with the other contents, your tablet can be stored in the hidden padded compartment. It’s pretty neat, IMO.
Let’s clear the air. Yes, I received this product for review purposes. This is not a sponsored post, however, so if I sound like an infomercial, just know that I really do like it that much. The ManPACK is just plain useful, and now has a permanent home in my arsenal.
I’d rather carry a purse or a satchel or a messenger bag. If something has to be prefixed with man and be “tactical” to make it saleable, I think there is something wrong with the perception of masculinity. Idiocy doesn’t equate to masculinity to me.

My son wants to carry a purse, but is hesitant to call it a “purse”. I’m fine with that. mine’s a purse, and now he has a Man-PACK, which works great for him. (Don’t worry, he knows very well that there’s no inherent value for “man” products and “woman” products. They’re just products. He still likes the style a lot, though. I can’t blame him for that!
These guys are the worst to deal with, and the bag ain’t all that. I would never buy from them again. I asked a question a few months ago about the size of a pocket on the bag, and they got back to me 4 WEEKS LATER. I told them i asked the question weeks ago, and this was their answer:
