Plenty of my friends and family have asked why it’s necessary to fight crowds and stand in line to see Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens on opening night. Some of it is because I see lots of movies on opening night; partially it’s because I simply can’t wait to see the latest installment of my all-time favorite film franchise. But I’ll admit that most of it is to minimize, as much as possible, the potential to see or hear spoilers about the film.

I devoured the two teasers and the trailers. I dissected them. I enjoyed watching the reaction videos. I enjoyed the parody videos.
But…I’m stopping before the TV spots. The first few have been showing more than I want to see. So, I’m done. I’m ready for the show.
So…freakin’ excited! I’ll have my 7 year old daughter on one side, my 10 year old son on the the other, and a full box of tissues, so I won’t have to explain why Daddy is crying.
Once I know that I want to see a movie I pretty much don’t want to see another piece of media on it. I want to go in as uninformed as I can.
