Spend the Long Weekend Playing Free Games

Gaming Geek Culture Parenting Tabletop Games

BGG-ChildrensGame-MainI recently wrote about the 2015 Children’s Game Print and Play Design Contest over on BoardGameGeek. There are only four days of voting left and with 25 games available, that is a lot of printing and playing to be had, but, hopefully, you have a long weekend in front of you with your family. What better way to spend it than playing free, original, made for kids games?

BGG-ChildrensGame-GamesI’m sorry to say that I haven’t yet had a chance to try out any of the games yet, and there aren’t many geared towards my son’s age (two), but I do intend to try to get at least a couple in this weekend–Raindrops and Tiny Garden Growers stand out as two that look age appropriate. There is a wide variety of games to choose from–strategy, luck, dexterity, counting, colors, matching–so you’re sure to find something for your kids, regardless of age or skill level.

I’d love to hear what games you and your family try out and play this weekend. Let’s all be thankful for spending time with our families and gaming together!
