When Penny Arcade teams up with a company, people tend to listen. Usually the partnerships are for video games, which don’t have as much of a place in my life as they used to (I’ve passed that torch to my eldest). But when the PA folks back a piece of hand-crafted tabletop gaming gear? That gets my attention.

Spellbook Gaming Boxes are by Elder Wood Academy and are customizable wooden cases, handcrafted to resemble leather-bound books.

Inside, they’re configured to either hold Magic: The Gathering cards (their original purpose) or as a rolling tray that you can customize for your RPG gear with custom inserts.

The inside of the cover is inlaid with reflective metal to serve as a white board. Handy for keeping track of hit points or taking notes!

Elder Wood Academy offers a host of leather and wood options to make your Spellbook stand out. You can even get a special-edition Acquisitions Incorporated version, if you feel like showing up for game night as their latest ill-fated intern.

Time is short on this one. But with only a couple of days left, their funding is through the roof. If you want to make sure you’re the most envied player at game night, you’ll want to make sure you back this one, for sure.
