Game of the Week: ‘Camel Up’

We believe that few things are as enjoyable as sitting around the living room floor, playing a game with your family. Each week, in the ‘Game of the Week’ column, GeekDad will suggest a fun, family-friendly game everyone can enjoy while spending time together. Here’s this week’s pick:

Camel Up

The 2014 Spiel Des Jahres winner is a fun, fast-paced game about camel races. Players take the role of spectators at the race, betting on how a variety of camels will place in each of several rounds of the race. There’s a surprising amount of strategy involved, but also, as you’d expect from a game about betting, plenty of luck. Games usually last about 15-20 minutes, so it’s a nice filler, but it’s also likely that you’ll decide to play it again and again.
