Get More From Your In-Game Purchases With Amazon Coins

AmazonCoinsTablets are going to be hot this season. And with Amazon.com pushing their new Fire 7″ tablet hard (rumor has it that it’s going to pop up well under it’s already-low MSRP of $49.99 on Black Friday), it’s a fair bet that a lot of kids (maybe yours!) are going to be getting one this holiday season.

You know what happens about thirty seconds after your kids rip into their new tablets? They start asking to buy stuff. No, they’re not shopping on your Amazon account (though you’re going to want to make sure you have parental controls turned on so that they can’t!). They’re looking to buy items in the new games they’ve downloaded. Be it gold, gems, energy, credits, souls, tokens, balloons, whatever, there’s hardly a mobile game that doesn’t have some sort of progress-helper available for purchase. As adults, we usually just roll our eyes and say “Oh, I can pay this and keep playing or I can wait fifteen minutes and play later for free. I’ll do that.” You know who isn’t great at the whole stoic self control thing? If you didn’t say “my kids,” you might be in denial. And, honestly, on the day they receive that shiny new tablet, you’re probably going to be pulled in a million directions already. The last thing you want to do is say no to them.

Luckily, Amazon has a pretty sweet deal to help take the sting out of in-game purchases (Amazon has sponsored this post). Amazon Coins is a universal virtual currency that you can use for games downloaded via the Amazon Appstore (available for Fire tablets and Android devices). What’s cool is that you can earn up to 20% of your coins back when you use them to purchase items in participating games like Clash of Kings, My Singing Monsters, Real Racing, and a lot more; the list is pretty huge. So once you start using Amazon Coins for in-game purchases, you won’t have to keep spending quite as much as you would just buying the in-game currency outright.

Amazon already offers a discount when you buy Amazon Coins in bulk, starting at 10% and increasing to 20%; but they’re currently offering a 20% discount on all Amazon Coin purchases through the end of December. So rather than fork over your credit card when you start getting pestered, control the spending curve and get more out of in-game purchases with Amazon Coins. And pick up the official Amazon Appstore to see all the great games, shows, and more you can get on your device.

    1. From what I understand, it’s on a game-by-game basis. And even then, it’s not every in-game purchase, but specific items that give the full 20% back. There’s a list of games in the article that Amazon provided – that will have the most recent participating games.
