We believe that few things are as enjoyable as sitting around the living room floor, playing a game with your family. Each week, in the “Game of the Week” column, GeekDad will suggest a fun, family-friendly game everyone can enjoy while spending time together. Here’s this week’s pick:
Five Tribes
Five Tribes at first glance appears incredibly complex, but once you get started with it you find it’s actually surprisingly simple to pick up. It’s a worker-placement game with tons of player interaction, bidding for turns, and an amazing amount of strategy. There are lots of different ways to win, and the random setup ensures no two games will be the same.
It very quickly became a family favorite, and both of my kids (13 and 9) love it.
