Review: ‘Assassin’s Creed: The Complete Visual History’

Books Geek Culture Reviews Videogames

ACHistory-CoverInsight Editions has just released their latest book, Assassin’s Creed: The Complete Visual History. This book, full of beautiful artwork and behind-the-scenes details of the inception of the series and making of each of the games, is a must-have for any AC fan.

ACHistory-PrinceofPersiaTimed to coincide with today’s launch of Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate (my review of which will be coming in the near future), Assassin’s Creed: The Complete Visual History is both epic and beautiful. It’s a large book (12 x 9.5 inches and 320 pages) that covers everything from the origins of Assassin’s Creed from Prince of Persia through every game in the franchise.

ACHistory-CharacterDesignsThe book also includes in-depth character studies from every game and era, including some really beautiful concept and final art. There are tons of details about each character that were new to me.

ACHistory-AC3The art alone is worth the price of entry for this book. There are so many beautiful spreads like this one that, without even reading the text, a reader could spend hours lost in the magnificent vistas and character shots.

Insight Editions has also put together a great trailer for the book.

ACHistory-EliseIf you are a fan of game history (there is eight years of Assassin’s Creed history here), you will probably really enjoy Assassin’s Creed: The Complete Visual History. If you are an Assassin’s Creed fan, then this book is a must-have for your shelf or coffee table.
