If you want to give your kids the gift of the stars for the holidays, but want to start at a reasonable price point, then this may be the telescope for you. The Celestron PowerSeeker 70AZ Telescope may not let you read the plack on the side of Voyager II from your backyard, but you may be able to see the rings of Jupiter, and you should be able to get a DSLR mount that will fit it, for cool space photography. It’s on sale today for just $40.

  1. Almost any telescope is better than no telescope, but if you’ve got a bit more cash, t’s also worth checking out the $99 or $149 Dobsonian telescopes that Celestron offers on Amazon. More aperture without a whole lot more hassle or cash. Happy stargazing!
