Last night marked the long awaited return of Star Wars to San Diego Comic Con. I wasn’t there, but boy do I wish I were. One of the highlights of the panel was the release of an incredible behind the scenes reel outlining the practical effects, sets and creatures of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and bringing back the magic of cinema in nearly 4 minutes of pure geekdom. Luckily, for those of us who could not attend, Lucasfilm immediately released the reel for all to see. Check it out…

Not only did the entire cast show up for last night’s panel alongside Kathleen Kennedy and J.J. Abrams, but Lucasfilm also took the huge and unprecedented move of walking the entire 6,000 member audience from Hall H to a marina a half-mile behind San Diego Convention Center for a Star Wars concert featuring the San Diego Symphony led by John Williams himself. The concert ended with a massive fireworks display that lit up the city, but nowhere near as much as Lucasfilm had reignited Star Wars fandom the world over.

As a bonus, for all of you diehard Star Wars fans out there like myself, be sure to download the new Star Wars app, released this week ahead of Comic Con and featuring loads of great games and content. Here’s a brief introduction to the app…
