New ‘Mission: Impossible Rogue Nation’ Trailer Gets the Led Out

Movies

I wasn’t sure Mission: Impossible Rogue Nation could top its first trailer, which included some truly intense action backed by The Fugees’ thumping “Ready or Not” as a lead in to the familiar Mission: Impossible theme. Well, I was wrong. The newest trailer, this time featuring Led Zeppelin’s “Whole Lotta Love,” is even more intense. The mere fact that Tom Cruise does his own stunts and is actually hanging from the giant Airbus A400M through takeoff has me sold. Add amazing gadgets, writer/director Christopher McQuarrie (Jack Reacher, Edge of Tomorrow) and a cast including Simon Pegg, Alec Baldwin, and Ving Rhames, and I’m predicting that this could be one of the best films of 2015. We’ll see when Mission: Impossible Rogue Nation releases in theaters on July 31st.

Perhaps its sacrilegious to say this as a fan of spy movies, and Bond in particular, but I’m more excited about Mission: Impossible Rogue Nation than I am about the upcoming Bond film, Spectre.

  1. The Bond franchise has been resurrected by Daniel Craig but it still feels like an old man’s spy movie. Mission Impossible has its ups and downs (especially the John Woo one) but it is a much more exciting franchise. And let’s not forget the Bourne series, I hope they could make one with Renner and Damon.
