Skylanders Day at GameStop, Sunday January 10th, 2015

Places Videogames

KaosEonFrom open to close this Sunday, January 10th, 2015, your local GameStop stores will be hosting a Light & Dark Skylanders Day. Stop in for some great deals and exclusive traps and characters. Eon’s Elite Stealth Elf and Elite Terrafin will be on sale for $20 and, if you haven’t joined the Trap Team, all starter packs will be $30 off.

GameStop will also be discounting the tablet version. This is my favorite since it is the first time that a full version of a Skylanders game can be played on a tablet. Compatible with iOS and Android, the on-the-go version includes a Bluetooth portal and controller. GameStop will have this version discounted to $35, but you can already pick one up here: Skylanders Trap Team Tablet Starter Pack.

Other deals at GameStop include free mini comics for the first 20 customers and discounts on light and dark expansion packs. You can read more at GameStop.com.

  1. Just went to our local store (got there before they were open) and they only had one Dark Expansion Pack left, and no Light Expansion Packs at all. Sales guy said they’d only been shipped a few of each and they’d sold them a few days ago. First customer in the door grabbed the one Dark Pack and had the sales guy order the Light Pack for him online. By the time I went to pay for my other stuff, both Dark & Light Packs were sold out online as well. Really frustrating…why have a special “Skylanders Day” if you’re not going even have a sufficient supply of the products that you’re offering deals on? First 20 customers were to get a free mini comic (which they did have). A customer said he was at another store and they’d already given all the comics away the day before. I also wanted to sign up for the Skylanders Adventure Club, but the sales guy didn’t have the right paperwork available (and couldn’t figure out how to do it online). So none of the Skylanders I bought today will count towards that membership, if I ever do sign up. Not too impressed with GameStop today. FYI, ebay and other sites are selling the Dark & Light Packs for $50+ each, but I just found them for regular retail $30 on Amazon.

  2. Had the same problems. Was second in line before the store opened and they didn’t have any. Called all around and nobody had any of the light ore dark. Of course they were sold out online too. Don’t understand why you have a special skylander day just for this, work our kids up then let them down. Disappointed.
