Sumo Omni Reloaded Ratchets Up the Relaxation

At our house, we love Sumo bean bag chairs. We’ve had a few over the years, and they’re always big hits. Literally. They’re humongous.

Our massive red Gigantor is perfect for crowding together for super comfy cuddle times during movie nights or for solo video game sessions. Our kids launch themselves into it every chance they get, and my wife and I love curling up together whenever we can.

The latest offering from Sumo is a bit different. The Omni Reloaded isn’t a bean bag at all. It’s a super comfortable, heavy-duty lounge chair. And unlike Sumo’s other fare, it’s mobile, so you can take it with you wherever you go.

The picture above showcases my favorite of the chair’s arrangements, but you can adjust it into all sorts of positions with a ratcheting mechanism within the frame. Take it outside, snap it down completely flat, and you can lie down and catch some rays. Pop up the footrest and bring up the back, and you’ve got a perfect video game perch.

I used it mostly to sit in my living room and play games, and it worked like a charm. It’s low to the ground, like the Sumo bean bag chairs, so you may have some issues getting in and out of the chair. But once you’re in, it’s nice and comfortable.

The frame is surrounded by polyurethane foam, which is contained within a polyester liner that’s extremely easy to clean. The whole thing comes with a travel bag, so you can take it anywhere. Or just fold it away and store it in a closet when it’s not in use.

At $199, the Omni Reloaded might be a little pricier than most single-seat gaming chairs, but it’s also a lot more versatile. Those things don’t double as a guest bed or a beach chair. They’re also not as well made, durable, or adjustable as the Omni Reloaded. It’s well worth the price tag.

Disclosure: I received a free chair from Sumo for this review.
