The Gates Re-Open in the First Teaser for Jurassic World

Movies Videos

With Avengers: Age of Ultron, Star Wars VII: The Force Awakens, Mad Max: Fury Road, and The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 2, 2015 is going to be a huge year for sequels. Now comes the 15-second teaser of the trailer for Jurassic World, the newest entry in the Jurassic Park franchise and yet another geek-certified sequel to add to that impressive 2015 lineup.

Short teasers for full movie trailers are nothing more than an annoying marketing tactic, but they have a job to do, and often do it well. Though a mere 15 seconds long and comprised of only five shots, the trailer teaser for Jurassic World hits all of the right notes. Literally. Using John Williams’ familiar eight-note Jurassic Park theme to punctuate each image, the teaser stirred an undeniable nostalgia for me, especially as the first shot moved through those familiar Kong-like gates that lead into the park.

Chris Pratt, hot off of Guardians of the Galaxy, stars in the film alongside Bryce Dallas Howard. Here is the plot according to IMDb:

Twenty-two years after the events of Jurassic Park, Isla Nublar now features a fully functioning dinosaur theme park, Jurassic World, as originally envisioned by John Hammond.

The full trailer premieres this Friday on JurassicWorld.com. Are you excited to take a trip to Jurassic World next June?
